Its been a busy year so far at 'Art at Pengwernydd' with many more visitors this year with lots of repeat bookings! I have had a fantastic time! I love my job so much and have met so many wonderful people. We were still out on location last week, not bad for October!

I'm currently exhibiting with Celf Canolbarth Cymru (Mid Wales Arts) at the Minerva Arts Centre, Llanidloes, Powys until the 8th November. It's a lovely venue, one we hope to revisit next year. I have, along with the usual wall hung pieces, greetings cards and browser items, some new prints on box canvas. They are also available in the Tourist Information Centres in Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, directly from me and shortly in the Bay Gallery, Pier Street, Aberystwyth.

New cards for Christmas........................................

I have also been working on two new paintings for this years Christmas cards. This year the theme will be birds. There's a very traditional Robin and a Blue Tit. They have been quite a change in direction for me. A lot more colourful than my usual quite limited pallete. Again, they will be available in all the usual venues or directly from me.

Oh, I do like to be by the seaside....................................

Ive moved! Firstly I must reassure you that nothing has changed Art at Pengwernydd will still be exactly where it always has been, on Margaret and Ivor's lovely farm, Pengwernydd. But I now live by the sea! And have a fantastic indoor studio! No longer the shed in the garden! We now live in a beautiful village called Llansantffraed, near to Llannon, right on the edge of Cardigan Bay. It's quite a well kept secret with a beautiful wild beach and a little ancient church. Very pretty and very quite. So, I'm going to introduce a coastal theme for visitors to Art at Pengwernydd to use for inspiration with some 'on location' trips out in the summer months.

What our customers are saying..............

'You tick all the boxes.
The tuition is perfect - help when needed plus extra new tips. Start and finish times are perfect. The cottage is very comfortable, warm and a very high standard. Surrounding countryside is stunning!' - E P

‘We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you. Our only regret was it should have been longer! I learned so much in three days and felt I had made more progress that I had done in months.’ - J

'It was a most enjoyable experience. For me, the en plein air in the morning and workshop reinforcement and completion of painting, or starting something new in the afternoon was a fruitful and worthwhile experience. Anita is a very gifted teacher with good direction to take the student forward and then the skill to let the student fly and come away with a great sense of achievement' - Les

Excellent course and delightful surroundings' - L D

'I thoroughly enjoyed the Art Course tutored by Anita Woods. I was taught to paint with watercolours and was very pleased with the results. I would recommend this workshop to anyone of any ability.' - Sandra
